Clinical Supervision Learning Objectives
Goals:
My first goal for this course is to strengthen my skills in the clinical setting. Right now my strengths are in emergency care and I don’t get a lot of time with my patients once I’ve brought them to the hospital. Having more time with patients and a larger scope of practice will help me excel in the clinical setting.
My second goal is to work on keeping a journal and writing in it daily. I’m finding it hard to get into a routine with this course so far and keep feeling like I’m behind when others are posting ahead. I think I need to really focus on time management and writing out my daily fears/stresses to help keep me focused.
My third goal is to gain more knowledge, skills and confidence, not only in the clinical setting but also with APA formatting and forum posts.
How they were met:
My knowledge of the skills has increased significantly, now it’s just learning to use them in the clinical setting. I now understand what is expected for journaling, and I just need to make sure I keep on top of it during clinical. I also found the more papers I wrote the higher my marks became and the more comfortable I became with APA formatting. As well, the more forums I posted in the easier it became. I am now confident that I know what is expected of me for clinical, now I just need to apply it.
