Pathophysiological Concepts Learning Objectives
Goals:
My learning goals for this course (since I have taken a previous pathophysiological course and it is such a huge topic and covers a vast array of diseases) are to focus on getting a better understanding and knowledge of the diseases we will be directly dealing with as an RPN. I also want to learn new ways to study and remember the material as it’s such an interesting course but the reading can be quite dry.
How they were met:
After successfully completing this course I was able to gain a better knowledge and understanding of the disease process and the diseases that can go hand in hand with mental health such as diabetes from weight gain related to certain anti-psychotic medications. I am able to identify, interpret and understand the effects of abnormal changes in human physiology in relation to a variety of diseases as well as identify and understand the pathophysiological changes that are related to the different stages/ages of humans. Through this course and the study skills course I learned how well flashcards work for me in retaining information and can now easily apply pathological concepts to the understanding of commonly encountered disease processes.
